There are a multitude of awesome looking games lined up for release in 2020, and on top of this, both the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X consoles are set to be released later on in the year, unsurprisingly just in time for the Christmas period. It is also expected that online casinos will continue to develop during the next year, meaning the best slot sites, best bingo sites and all other popular types of online casino games will be soon be upping their game even further too. So, regardless of what type of games you love best, it’s set to be a pretty exciting year for everyone in the gaming community.
Here are a handful of some of the most exciting and highly anticipated games that are set to be released in 2020.
Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord
This game is especially highly anticipated due to its long-delayed release date. For those who don’t know, Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord is an upcoming action role-playing game, and the prequel to Mount & Blade: Warband. This game is set 210 years before its predecessor, in a world inspired by the Migration Period from AD 375 to AD 568.
The basic gameplay is the same as that of previous entries in the Mount & Blade series. It centers around players building up a party of soldiers, undertaking quests on an overhead campaign map, and of course there are also plenty of battles to be fought.
Bannerlord was first announced back in 2012, and so has been pretty long awaited by fans of the Mount & Blade series. In 2019, it was finally announced, much to its fans’ excitement, that an early access version of the game would at long last be released in March 2020.
The Last of Us Part II
Due to be released on the 29th of May on PlayStation 4, The Last of Us Part II was first teased three years ago, and it has been seven years since the original game was first released.
The Last of Us is an action-adventure / survival / horror game, played from a third-person perspective and following the character of Ellie, a 19 year old girl who finds herself in conflict with a strange, mysterious cult in a post-apocalyptic America.
Players must use firearms, improvised weapons and stealth to fight off and defend against themselves against the cannibals and hostile creatures they encounter on their mission.
Cyberpunk 2077
In April 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 will finally be released on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
From what has been seen so far, the game has a futuristic, Grand Theft Auto sort of vibe, but with far better and rather impressive graphics. It is set in the incredible Night City of California, and features Keanu Reeves as the main protagonist, which has many fans a little bit more than excited.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2
Now, we don’t know for sure that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild 2 will be released in 2020, but there has been a great deal of speculation and plenty of hot rumours.
Nintendo dropped a pretty sizeable “oh just one last thing” at E3 2019 when they threw out a surprise first tease to the sequel of the original The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild. However, that first teaser is all that fans have so far officially heard on the game and its release. This sequel looks much darker than its original, and from the look of Zelda’s short new haircut, it looks like she too might be getting in on the action this time round.
Diablo IV
Diablo IV is another video game that looks like it’s going to be much darker than it has been before. This dungeon crawler game series involves druids, shapeshifters, animal allies, and sorceresses, amongst other mythical creatures. It follows the daughter of Mephisto and the primary antagonist, Lilith, who is the Queen of Succubi and the co-creator of the world of Sanctuary. Following on from the previous games, the forces of both the demons and the angels have been depleted, allowing an opportunity for Lilith to establish complete power in Sanctuary.
Diablo IV was first shown off at BlizzCon 2019. Whilst there is no official confirmation of when its release will be, many fans are hoping it will be within the next few months.
Without a doubt, 2020 is going to be a pretty monumental year for gaming, and the fans can’t wait. No matter what type of games you enjoy, there is going to be something or other for you to get your teeth stuck into over the course of this year.
