After months of waiting with bated, frosty breath, Game of Thrones came back to HBO on July 16. Remember, we wrote about the trailer just a few weeks ago. Season six ended well over a year ago on June 26, 2016 and yet we have somehow all managed to pull through. Still, there will be those days between episodes when a cliffhanger, character death or impending awkward family scene is just too much for us. This is why we thought it would be a good idea to come up a variety of ways to spend your precious time waiting between episodes during season seven.
Book A Game of Thrones Vacation
Although some shows may get their breathtaking scenery from a green screen, Game of Thrones is actually filmed at a number of different locations around the world, many of which you can actually visit. There are even location tours set up in some of these places, including Iceland, Croatia and Northern Ireland. One particularly impressive tour package is available from Zicasso travel agency in Spain and Morocco, where you’ll find the real-world sets for Dorne and Meereen.
Read A Song of Ice and Fire
Of course, if you want some Game of Thrones geek credit of your own, you are probably going to have to read the source material upon which the show itself is built. Penned by award-winning author and infamous slowpoke George R. R. Martin, A Song of Ice and Fire is made up of five published books at this moment in time, though there are two more set to be released. On average, each book contains 850 pages so there are bound to be characters, plot lines and relationships you’ve never even heard of. Do you know who Lady Stoneheart is? No? Time to read the books.
Game of Thrones Gaming
As of writing this article, there aren’t really very many "traditional’ Game of Thrones titles to play. That is, there are only two console games, both of which are named Game of Thrones, and a single PC game entitled Game of Thrones: Genesis. Thankfully, there are plenty of other games to be found online, including a web-based title called Blood of Dragons. There’s also a Game of Thrones video slot, which can be found on a number of online casinos. That said, you may want to check out this Roxy Palace review to get a $350 welcome bonus as you can then play the Game of Thrones online slot without spending a ton of money.
This may seem like a lot of extra Game of Thrones to get through between episode premiers, but considering this season of will only include seven episodes, you’ll have plenty of time to get through all this before season eight begins. Too soon? Sorry. For now, let’s just focus on the fact a new season will be premiering soon, and between episodes you can listen to fellow fans, play at online gambling casinos and read to your heart’s content.
