For any sports fan, the off-season can be an underwhelming time. The season is over, and there’s not a whole lot to get excited about until it gets underway again. NFL fans are some of the most passionate fans in the entire world, and they live, breathe and sleep football. If you’re craving some sports action during the off-season, here’s a few things you can do.
Watch The 2016 Olympics
You’re too late for Euro 2016 and the Copa America, but don’t worry; the Olympics are almost here! This year’s Olympics take place in Rio, and they’re sure to be packed full of excitement. Whether you’re a fan of the traditional track & field events, or you’re more interested in something like golf, there’s an event for you. They take place from the 5-21 Aug, keeping you busy before the NFL season gets underway.
Start Your Own Team
If you’re really missing the action, why not get out there and get involved in it for yourself? There are leagues and teams across the country that are set up to allow amateurs in. Keep in mind that the equipment costs might be quite high, depending on the type of league you join. At the very least, you’ll want to get yourself some football uniforms to kit out your team members.
Play EA Sports’ Madden NFL 16
The next best thing to getting out there and doing it for yourself is playing it in video game format! We’re a long way removed from the days of playing Sega Genesis football with bad-looking 2D sprites. Nowadays, the work that EA Sports puts into its football titles is nothing short of astonishing. If you’re a fan of the NFL, and you haven’t got Madden NFL 16 yet, you’re missing out. You can even play your friends in online competition if you want to!
Watch Highlights Of Last Season
Last season was a crazy one. Why not relive the ups and downs of the season by watching some of the key moments all over again? The opening moments of last season feel like a very long time ago now, and refreshing your memory is a good way to satisfy your NFL craving. Why not go back ten years and remember what things were like in 2006? There are all sorts of DVD’s on the market for this purpose.
Get Ready For Next Season
Don’t sit around the house wondering what next season will be like until it arrives! Start getting ready for it! Maybe you can finally build that entertainment room in your house to make your NFL-watching experience that much better? Maybe it’s a case of going online and doing more research about new players and watching interviews with them? However you like to get ready for the season; start doing it now. It won’t be long before the first kick!
