ICYMI - Bumper Extended GeekWeekend Edition - GUARDIANS, MJ, GODZILLA

Thanks to another DDOS attack on our host Typepad, we were unable to update for a couple of days and bring you a few goodies, including news about GODZILLA, the teasers and trailer from GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY and that MICHAEL JACKSON performance. So just in case you fell asleep under a rock, grab a coffee and settle down for a whirlwind trip through GeekVille.

GODZILLA CRUSHES BOX OFFICE

GODZILLA helped itself to a huge slice of box office pie with a $93.2 million opening weekend and not surprisingly garnered a sequel, which is apparently already in production. My two cents on the movie ... go and see it, in IMAX 3D if possible ... you will not be disappointed.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY - Marketing Done RightGuardians-of-the-galaxy-rocket-raccoon-groot
Considering that the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY comic books do not come with the built in audience of The Avengers, Spider-man, X-Men et al, it would have appeared to be an impossible task to create the same kind of buzz around Rocket Raccoon and Groot as there is with Iron Man and Captain America. Take a bow Marvel ... not only have they succeeded in doing that, I believe that following the teasers and trailer, GOTG is now the MOST anticipated movie of the Summer. The all-star cast does no harm to that either.

Check out the amazing trailer that almost blew up the Internet yesterday.

MICHAEL JACKSON (almost) LIVE Michael-jackson-hologram-billboard-music-awards-990
Despite last minute lawsuits over who owns the rights to hologram technology, the 2014 BILLBOARD AWARDS really came to life when a hologram of Michael Jackson performed Slave to the Rhythm, a song he originally recorded with L.A. Reid and Babyface during the DANGEROUS sessions in 1991, but was recently released on the posthumous album, XSCAPE.

Now that Elvis and Tupac have been resurrected along with Michael, can we please have a hologram of Freddy Mercury in front of Queen?

Just a few of the things that went on during the past couple of days ... let's hope we can stay up and running and that the cyber cops can get these pricks who have nothing better to do than spoil everything for everyone ... LOSERS!!!!!!
