Universal Developing New SCARFACE Film

A new version of SCARFACE is in development at Universal, according to Heat Vision.

Martin Bregman, who produced the 1984 film starring Al Pacino, and Marc Shmuger are producing the movie. The project is being described as neither a sequel nor a remake of the 1984 movie - or the 1932 film set in Chicago.

As Heat Vision puts it, the new SCARFACE will retain the essence of both films no matter how it is related to them: "a crime tale set in today’s world, offering a dark look at the American Dream."
