Will Smith Is The Frontrunner For Tarantino's DJANGO UNCHAINED

Not long after details surrounding Quentin Tarantino's next project began to leak, already a frontrunner for the lead role has emerged. Heat Vision reports that Tarantino is interested in Will Smith for the role of the freed slave with a vendetta in DJANGO UNCHAINED.

Although an offer has yet to go out, if Smith were to join the project, he would team up with Christoph Waltz and possibly Samuel J. Jackson, who are circling other parts in the film.

DJANGO UNCHAINED follows the story of a freed slave who joins forces with a German bounty hunter in the Old South to find his wife and take down a plantation owner. The script is reportedly in circulation around Hollywood and is being met with great acclaim.

The question remains, however, whether or not Smith would be willing to risk his hightly-maintained image on what may be a controversial role with some uncomfortable themes for some audiences.
