According to Cinema Blend, IRON MAN 3 helmer Shane Black will be pulling double duty on the Marvel tentpole, co-writing the script with screenwriter Drew Pearce in addition to directing the feature.
Cinema Blend's "multiple, completely trustworthy sources" are providing conflicting reports as to why Pearce was hired in the first place, since Black is a proven screenwriting talent. One story claims that Pearce was brought on board in order to temper Black's R-rated writing history and ensure that the finished product is "family-friendly." Other sources claim that is not the case at all. Regardless, one thing is for sure: the duo should turn out one unique script.
