The H.O.M.E. Foundation/STIKS Celebrity Video Game Challenge

Last Tuesday, January 11th, the heavens smiled on me as I was invited to not only cover the red carpet for The H.O.M.E. Foundation's STIKS Celebrity Video Game Challenge, but I was a guest as well!

Home 3

ALL KINDS of awesome people INCLUDING Snoop Dogg, Michael Strahan, Cobi Jones, Samm Levine, Josh Keaton, Jonathan Lipnicki, Nick Swardson and Zac Efron came out to do a little gaming and raise some much needed funds for: Junior Achievement of Southern California, The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, I’m Too Young For This! Cancer Foundation, The Trevor Project and Grassroot Soccer.

Zac and emily

For some, like Efron, the tournament really hit home as his favorite cousin, Emily Hobson, is a recent cancer survivor and L.A. regional chair for the I’m Too Young For This! Cancer Foundation.

AND...The H.O.M.E. Foundation raffled off a HOUSE. Inorite?!

Fun and laughs were had by all while getting in some quality Xbox time with Madden, FIFA, NBA, and Fight Night...

Then it happened:

The Final Showdown
Mike 3

With WWE Champion Mike "The Miz" Mizanin repping The Trevor Project and UFC Champion/A-Team star Quinton "Rampage" Jackson holding it down for Grassroot Soccer, they met for a 'best of 3' in UFC Undisputed 2010. But with Rampage playing as himself (hell, if I had my likeness in a game, I'd play as me EVERY TIME!) and The Miz choosing Forest Griffin, it was over in a matter of minutes.

Mike 2

Along with a few controller fails from The Miz (who hit the silver button 3 times) and a constant barrage of trash talk from commentator Brad Sherwood (Whose Line is it Anyway?), Rampage took it 2-0 and raised $10,000 for Grassroot Soccer.

Winner

ONLY bummer...the tournament seemed a little male heavy. LOTS of lady celebs who game...wondered where Aisha Tyler, Mila Kunis, or the Team Unicorn girls were. Perhaps next time! :)

Ready to see who I grabbed on the carpet?
