"Family Dynamic" Plot For UNCHARTED Movie Denied; Wahlberg Not Yet Signed To Play Drake

According to Joystiq, all the recent buzz about a "family dynamic" being explored in David O. Russell's UNCHARTED movie is nothing but Hollywood rumor.

UNCHARTED 3 game director Justin Richmond clarified the situation:

"First of all, all that stuff was denied by David O. Russell. He actually called us up and was like, 'I don't know what these guys are talking about.'"

Additionally, Richmond told Joystiq that Mark Wahlberg, who was initially pegged as Nathan Drake, has actually not yet been signed to play the lead role:

And Mark Wahlberg isn't anywhere near to being confirmed to play Nathan Drake either -- it's just Hollywood scuttlebutt, apparently.

So it appears there's still hope for our beloved UNCHARTED adaptation, especially for Nathan Fillion to play Nathan Drake. Do you hear that, Mr. Russell? That's the sound of thousands of fanboys and girls clamoring for Fillion to fill Drake's shoes on screen. Please make it happen.
