GEARS OF WAR 3 Multiplayer Beta Coming Soon

Epic Games announced today that in early 2011 fans of the Gears of War series will be able to get a taste of the third installment via a multiplayer beta on the Xbox 360. They also had this to say regarding the improvement of their franchises online issues:
Gears of War 3 will also feature its own dedicated servers; Epic hopes to squash some of the commonly-reported problems with Gears of War 2’s multiplayer, like long waits for match-making. Host advantage was also a frequent issue with previous Gears of War games — the player that hosted a match would often experience slightly less lag, which could make a huge difference in close fights. Dedicated multiplayer servers should eliminate that advantage.
As we already know thanks to our friend CVD (http://www.geekweek.com/2010/10/gears-of-war-3-delayed.html) Gears of War 3 has been delayed from it's original release date of Spring 2011 until next fall so giving us a multiplayer beta should help ease the pain of that announcement temporarily.
