8BITWOOD Takes VG Art To A New Level

Ever wish you could have an 8-bit version Link or that pain in the ass dog from Duck Hunt as a conversation piece for your wall? Well, wish no more my little geekdarlings...for local L.A. company 8BITWOOD is here to help.

“What IS 8BITWOOD?” you ask.

Well, 8BITWOOD is a company that makes homemade 8-bit pixel art, which uses wood as its medium. The mystery artist works in the video game industry and according to them, they “work at a videogame developer that is kind enough to let me create murals of pixel art and put them up on the wall for display.”

Aside from my own boss, this cat’s boss is the BEST BOSS EVER.

Your 8BITWOOD piece will be something unique as each piece is made by HAND, y’all. This person cuts out “thousands of little blocks of wood, stains them, glues them together, and seals them” that makes some pretty tasty murals.

But don't take MY word for it. Check out the win, kids.

...and for you REALLY old school kids:

That was just a wee smackerel of the works from 8BW's official website, including games like Joust, Bubble Bobble, Excite Bike, Ninja Gaiden, and more!

BONUS ROUND: If you work in the videogame industry, 8BITWOOD says “I’ve worked in the industry for quite a while and I think it would be great to share my art with my fellow videogame developers.”

(This means they’re willing to give ya a discount toward a piece for yer office wall! SCORE!)

Yeah, I’m SOOOOO getting one! You likey? You want a piece of your own? Contact 8BITWOOD at [email protected]!
