FANTASY BASEBALL: NELSON HAMS IT UP

NELSON HAMS IT UP; NO LONGER IN CRUZ CONTROL

What are ya smilin' for Cruz... you're killin' me!!!

The Texas Rangers put outfielder Nelson Cruz on the 15 day disabled list with a case of hot hammy… a right hamstring strain. Cruz had strained that thing many times in the past two weeks, coming out of games, sitting out here and there, while DHing in others. What he really had needed was two or three days off to recover, but when your outfielder is among the AL leaders in homers and RBI (with a .320 batting average to boot), it is not always the thing you most want to do.

Cruz re-tweaked the hamstring on Monday, coming out of a game against Detroit after two at bats. At present doctors see it as a temporary condition that will be cured with rest. The downside is that based on awesome numbers that Cruz put up last season (.260/33/76/20 SBs) despite missing around 30 games with an injury, his owners were expecting a lot from a healthy Cruz this season. They were treated to such so far, too. It is only two weeks, so no major harm done. The really bad news? I own him in three freakin’ leagues.  @#$%&*!!!
