Dark Horse Comics announced at Emerald City Comic Con over the weekend
that Burton will be writing a currently untitled short comic story with
them in the June issue of Myspace Dark Horse Presents, which Marketing
Coordinator Aaron Colter called "a story about physics, family, and
consequences."

Celeb stunt comic writing is a tricky minefield. On the one hand, a "name" can bring fans into our orbit-- folks who have never wandered into the Graphic Novel section at their local Barnes and Noble.
On the other hand, the comic might be horrifyingly awful-- I don't think I need to name names-- you guys know which books I'm talking about.
Luckily, I don't that sense from Burton. This doesn't seem like a Next Gen Alumni/second fiddle to Wil Wheaton's geek cred cash grab-- And, because it's a short story, it doesn't feel like we're looking at a backdoor film development scenario.
Fingers crossed for ya, LaVar-- Here's hoping you strike a chord and we see more comic writing from you in the future.
