Iann Robinson: WALL STREET 2 Trailer And Synopsis

Oliver Stone has not always directed quality films (Natural Born Killers, The Doors anyone?) but in the eighties when he unleashed Wall Street with Michael Douglas and Charlie Sheen it was not only a quality film but also a glimpse into what would happen if these greed mongers weren't controlled.

Years later with the financial world in ruin Stone is set to release Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps on April 23rd. Apparently this will revisit the world of Gordon Gekko (Douglas) who is fresh out of prison and unaware of the new world order. Here's the plot summery and the first trailer:

Emerging from a lengthy prison stint, Gordon Gekko (Michael Douglas) finds himself on the outside of a world he once dominated. Looking to repair his damaged relationship with his daughter, Gekko forms an alliance with her fiancé Jacob (Shia LaBeouf), and Jacob begins to see him as a father figure. But Jacob learns the hard way that Gekko – still a master manipulator and player – is after something very different from redemption

Will it be any good? It's hard to tell because the original Wall Street struck at exactly the right time, when the age of everything was in full swing. Regardless of the message I'm not sure people want to pay money they don't have to watch a story about the people who took it from them. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
