Robert Schwentke To Direct R.I.P.D.

According to Heat Vision, German director Robert Schwentke (RED, THE TIME TRAVELER'S WIFE) has signed on to direct Universal's adaptation of the Dark Horse comic, R.I.P.D.
Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi penned the script, which follows a murdered cop working in the Rest In Peace Department, a police force that deals in the supernatural. Ryan Reynolds is attached to star.
Producing R.I.P.D. are Neal Moritz and Dark Horse's Mike Richardson.
