PRINCE OF PERSIA star Gemma Arterton told British newspaper The Sunday Times that she will be meeting with ALIEN director Ridley Scott to discuss possibly starring as the female lead in his upcoming prequel.

Scott reportedly requested a meeting with Arterton after he saw her performance in the film THE DISAPPEARANCE OF ALICE CREED.

Recently, Scott went into greater detail about the project, revealing his plans for the prequel. The film will take place thirty years before Sigourney Weaver's character, Ellen Ripley, and aims to focus on the origins of the aliens. Jon Spaihts has been tapped to write the screenplay.
