13 Years After Being Announced, DUKE NUKEM FOREVER Will Be Out Within The Year

It's official: reporting from the floor of PAX '10, Kotaku confirmed that Gearbox Software is, in fact, working on the ridiculously long-delayed sequel to DUKE NUKEM 3D, DUKE NUKEM FOREVER.

Gearbox announced today that it was picking up where 3D Realms left off and plans to have the game ready to ship within the next year, possibly by the end of 2010. Gearbox president Randy Pitchford says that DUKE NUKEM FOREVER is now in the "polishing" stages, so an early release is not out of the question.

DUKE NUKEM FOREVER will be available on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

Kotaku has posted a couple of videos from the DUKE NUKEM FOREVER PAX booth, so head on over to the site to see the first gameplay footage.
