FANTASY SPORTS: HOOTS & HOLLERS

Yao Ming: "Look Guys... I can walk!!! Draft me!"

Edwin Jackson hadn’t been much to get excited about this season. Pitching very decent ball for Detroit last season, the theory was that with a move to the NL this season, the hurler would be a phenom with Arizona. That was not to be the case, as he had many games where he was lit up to go with a few decent showings in between. But surprisingly after going back to the AL with the Chicago White Sox at the trade deadline, Jackson has shown brilliance, striking out 34 in his last 28 IP, with two wins and just three earned runs allowed. Someone ought to tell Javier Vazquez that this is do-able… Yao Ming‘s surgically repaired foot is fully recovered, but it will be interesting to see how early he actually goes in fantasy basketball drafts this season. It is almost like drafting someone you know will inevitably get hurt and miss major time for your squad… They are saying in L. A. that Blake Griffin will be starting for the Clippers this season and getting a full chance to develop rapidly, so rank him in there with the small pack of viable rookies for the year ahead…
