Has X-MEN: FIRST CLASS found young Magneto?

Numerous outlets are reporting that Michael Fassbender (Inglourious Basterds, 300, Band of Brothers) is being pursued to play the young version of Ian McKellen's Erik Lensherr (aka Magneto) in Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class.

Fassbender might not be a household name just quite yet, but you'll likely remember him as the film critic turned secret agent in Inglourious Basterds, or the Spartan with the quotable line: "Then we shall fight in the shade" from 300.

With four films coming out this summer, including roles as the baddie in Jonah Hex, and (the one I'm looking forward to) portraying Carl Jung in Cronenberg's  A Dangerous Method, it's more than likely that he'll be big blip on your cultural radar by the end of the year.

Fassbender is reportedly also in the hot seat for a role as a villain in the Toby Maguire-less Spider-Man 4. Let your geek-speculation run rampant on who he might be cast as...
...I'm putting money on Electro.
