NHL PLAYOFFS: I Don't Think We're In Kansas Anymore, Toto....

After the Penguins/Red Wings final last year, I've been very skeptical about this years dance living up to the hype. I was wrong. Big time.

This year's Stanley Cup Playoffs is only into the first round and already we've seen some amazing action that is quickly proving why hockey deserves its place as a "major league" sport. Last night only continued the trend, as we continued to witness upsets and enough hits to make Terry Tate, "Office Linebacker" blush.

The Los Angeles Kings had their fans behind them as they didn't allow an early dominant performance by the Canucks to phase them and they rallied to a 5-3 victory after trailing 1-0 for most of the first period.

Buffalo is still trying to forget game two - the team was 31-0 in the regular season leading after two periods, and that loss could have been crippling for Lindy Ruff and company. There were them promptly beaten once again by the lowest scoring team in the league. Buffalo might be in BIG trouble, folks. Ryan Miller can't win this thing on his own.

The Canadiens felt the wrath of the Capitals last night as they were quickly brought back down to reality as the Capitals bullied them to a 5-1 final in front of the hometown fans in Montreal. Even after the game Washington's Captain, Alexander Ovechkin, said to the press that he felt Montreal goaltender, Halak, looked "shaky." And how.

Here are the scores from last night's games:
