Fast Food Review WITH VIDEO! The KFC Double Down

You don't often see a fast food item capture the nation's imagination and attention the way the Double Down has. Last time I remember this kind of chatter was for the Chalupa, and for the same reason...a company figured out how to take one of their items and make it even unhealthier. Gordita sandwich? Great! Let's try deep-frying the bread first! Boneless chicken filet? Hmmm, needs more fatty stuff piled on!

With the Double Down -- two fried chicken filets, cheese, sauce, and bacon -- KFC is veering dramatically into county fair territory. This may not be quite at the level of the Krispy Kreme Donut Chicken Sandwich, but it's close.

I know it isn't new to be writing about this, as every single blogger out there has suddenly become a fast food critic this past week, but I figure if I couldn't be the first, I can be the best.

I dare you to watch me eat the whole thing without gagging. Mad props to my videographer, Julia Boyd, who made it through the entire meal while keeping her own food down.
