FANTASY HOOPS: Big Ballers & Unexpected Fallers

Here are the Ballers & Fallers of the week as deemed appropriate by the staff at theFantasyGeek.com:

BIG BALLERS

Guys who stepped up over the past week:

Aaron Brooks (25ppg, 3.8 rpg, 6.2 apg, 1.25 spg) – Brooks and his new teammate Kevin Martin got a good rhythm going and the point guard reaped the rewards.

David West
(16.7 ppg, 8 rpg, 3.3 apg, 2.3 spg, 2.7 bpg,) – Points and rebounds were pretty good, but look at the assists, steals and blocks. Add in a 50% field goal rate and you had big categorical money here. Whoever said “Go West, young man” wasn’t foolin’.

Amare Stoudemire (
27.3 ppg, 9.3 rpg, 1.8 bpg) – He’s been back for a few weeks now, but we need to make mention that Amare has finally been playing like the elite draft choice he was since failing to be traded at the deadline. Anyone else think he was dogging it?

UNEXPECTED FALLERS

Stars who stumbled:

Luol Deng (14.5 ppg, 4.5 rpg) – He played on a balky knee for a couple of games, then put himself on the shelf. Deng is dinged…again!

OJ Mayo (16.3 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 1.8 apg) – The numbers are down, especially the assists. Even if there are too many mouths to feed in Memphis, there always has to be room for some OJ.

Michael Beasley (14.3 ppg, 5 rpg) – Bease hasn’t been putting in a strong effort, thus he sits a bit more than he had been. If the PT isn’t there, the numbers are going to be a-bease-mal.
