Southern Lord Records Signs THE SECRET

Southern Lord Records, a label that consistently puts out challenging stuff in the world of extreme music, announced today it has signed Italian extreme metal band The Secret. The band formed in 2003 in Trieste, Italy and combine elements of grindcore/primitive black metal and huge monolithic riffs.

The Secret's debut album Luce was released on Goodfellow Records and after that the band saw countless line up changes before arriving at a new incarnation and releasing their second album Disintoxication. After the closing of Goodfellow Records the band searched for a new home finally arriving at Southern Lord Records. Southern Lord owner Greg Anderson had the following to say:

"These days it's extremely rare that we receive a demo submission that blows us away. This was the case with the demo THE SECRET had sent us. Their sound is relentless, uncompromising and extremely lethal. Anti-melody, pro-cacophony!"

This April The Secret will enter Godcity Studios in Salem, MA along with producer Kurt Ballou to record their new album titled Solve et Coagula. A sonic interpretation of a total loss of faith in social system, religion, personal redemption and every institution.
