Morning folks, or should I say afternoon? Sorry, I sleep late, that's how I roll. Anyhoo, some fun stuff pouring from the world of web and insider emails about the cutthroat world of movie making. Figured I'd slap your faces with a concentrated dose.
First up is the Green Lantern movie. Not wanting to buck any Hollywood trends, the living entities from the slime pools of hell aka the movie studio people have announced Green Lantern will be in 3-D. Is nobody else hip to the idea that 3-D does so well now because it's an anomaly? Once everything is in 3-D nobody will care and the studios will be back to square one.
Trying desperately to wash the tainted taste of bile from the mouths of those who witnessed the first, Wolverine 2 is officially on and officially based on the Frank Miller/Chris Claremont comic. Something that should've happened in the first place. This will either cleanse the palette or destroy one of the best mini-series of all time.
Harrison Ford says that he, George Lucas and Steve Spielberg have agreed on the germ of an idea for the next Indiana Jones movie. Hopefully that germ will gestate in Lucas's stomach and render him too sick to do anymore damage. Plus Ford is 67, he's a little long in the tooth for whip cracking.
Disney has announced there will be a Tron TV series that will debut after the upcoming Tron Legacy movie this Christmas. The plot will pick up several months after the events in the film. Boy, I hope Tron does as well as Disney thinks it will, they've invested a lot into this. I love Tron and have a lot of faith in the new movie, I just hope it kicks as much ass as I want it to.
Apparently Warner Bros are in negotiations to buy the rights to the seventies video game Space Invaders in order to make a movie out of it. No word on the plot but I'll just bet it'll be in 3-D no matter what it is.
The long rumored Gilligan's Island movie may actually come to fruition now (oh JOY). Warner Bros have teamed with Atlas Entertainment to get the movie up and running after a long period laying dead in the water. What the hell are the movie studio slime going to do when they've exhausted all the retro shows & video games? Next up the action adventure film CapN Crunch or the tender love story Sanka?
Well that's it for today. Off to run some warm water and sharpen my razor blades.
