FRIDAY NIGHT FIGHTS - KENTA vs. Marufuji

Welcome all to another edition of Friday Night Fights, our weekly look at the best beatdowns in the history of popular culture. We traverse all worlds here from film and television to wrestling and MMA. We'll revisit some favorites and introduce you to some hidden gems along the way. Tonight's edition is firmly in the latter category as we take a look at the epic feud between Japanese stars KENTA and Naomichi Marufuji.

These two have been both partners and rivals in Japan's NOAH promotion and never fail to bring the pain. Tonight we're going to take two looks at the feud between KENTA and Marufuji, with a little something for both newcomers and hardcore fans.

The first - for the newcomers - is a quick music video recapping their incredible 2006 match for the GHC Title, the biggest prize in the promotion. This was their first chance to main event in this spot and they tore the house down. The action is lightning fast and super stiff. This bout would go on to win several "Match of the Year" awards worldwide.

Check it out:

For the more hardcore fan, we've also included the full match between then GHC Jr. Champion KENTA and challenger Marufuji from January of 2006. It's thirty minutes of great action and intense Japanese atmosphere. Not a bad way to cap off your Friday night after a few adult beverages.

Enjoy the fighting spirit below:

We'll be back again next week for another bruised and bloodied Friday Night Fights.

Have a great weekend everybody!
