Kobe Bryant and Allen Iverson will both sit out this weekend's NBA All-Star Game in Dallas.
Bryant
will be replaced by Dallas point guard Jason Kidd
on the Western Conference roster.
Iverson's spot in the Eastern
Conference will be filled by New York forward David Lee.
Bryant missed his third straight game for the Lakers on Wednesday
night with a sore left ankle. Iverson missed his fifth straight game for the 76ers on Wednesday
night to be with his sick daughter.

Kobe is the real loss here, obviously. Iverson had no business being named to the All-Star team and is being replaced by a far worthier player in David Lee. It's also cool to see Jason Kidd get an opportunity to play in front of the home crowd in Dallas. Kidd isn't Kobe, no question, but he'll have to do.
Happiest people in the world about this news? Lakers fans who hope Kobe will get a few days of quality healing.
