When Gamers Give Back: Meet GAMERS UNITED

Gu1

For the 3rd year running, Gamers United brought together members of the video game industry for a Holiday Cocktail Party that delivered a night of laughs and gaming in the name of the Mattel Children's Hospital of UCLA, with guests donating either a new, unopened video game, brand new peripherals, or in some cases - both.

Guests include Alexis Cruz (Stargate SG-1), Chris Gore (G4), Carlos Ferro (Gears of War franchise), and a serious old school guy (which I'm leaving as a surprise for you Transformer/G.I. Joe cartoon fans).

Note: fairly loud, so adjust volume as needed.

*about Gamers United from their site:

Gamers United emerged in 2007 after what seemed to be a never-ending barrage of attacks from the press about the evils of gaming.  From murderous mothers to the Virginia Tech Massacre, law enforcement, the media and society alike were searching for answers and video gaming seemed to be in the proverbial bullseye.  A group of gamers decided to pool the resources of their various organizations to come together and highlight the positive of gaming to the media.  From there, the philanthropy took on a life of its own and has grown into an organization dedicated to giving back and highlighting all the best in video gaming and its gamers.  Whether donating to a children's hospital or coordinating speaking engagements at schools, we believe there is always a way to give back. There are a number of ways to be involved, so why wait!  Contact us today if you are interested in being a part of an organization proving philanthropy can be just as much fun as it is charitable.
