Wave Of The Future? Design Your Own Clothing With BLANK LABEL

I met Fan Bi, the founder of Blank Label, when I went to speak at Babson College in Boston. He's an incredibly enterprising young guy and his custom clothing concept is pretty cool and generally in keeping with the consumer desire to fully customize their own personal products and entertainment. You now basically have the opportunity to co-design the very clothes you wear. Cool stuff.

Check out the company at BLANK LABEL and you can demo a host of clothing customizations before you order.

Here is a little on Blank Label from creator Fan Bi:

Blank Label puts the creativity and control back in the hands of the consumer.  On the principle that mass-produced and looking the same is over-rated, Blank Label's mission is to change the way guys buy clothes, starting with co-created dress shirts. Imagine a world where you have a hand in co-creating the products you buy. From the shape of the collar to the inside lining of the cuff, the color of the buttons to the stitching of the placket, you choose the fabric, the style, the personalization and the sizing. With Blank Label you design, they make, your very own LABEL is co-created.

Started in May 2009, Blank Label hails from the college dorms of Boston and now has four young husslers working remotely with two in Massachusetts, one in California and the founder in Shanghai, where the shirts are crafted by experienced tailors. All sales are funneled through an e-commerce site, www.blank-label.com, the focus of the team is to get reach, be honest, be customer-obsessed and grow the next great e-commerce apparel company. The site only launched online October 31, 2009, and has been receiving daily orders from day one. There are plans on developing an international customer base, expanding into other products, and more broadly changing the relationship between individual consumer and apparel producer through the process of co-creation.
