The UFC's first foray into Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, may have just added a little star power.
UFC lightweight titleholder B.J. Penn believes his next fight will
be held on the UFC 112 fight card, that is already rumoured to feature
Matt Hughes versus Renzo Gracie.
"It looks like we'll be fighting April 10 in Abu Dhabi. Nothing is
signed, so tentative date, April 10. We'll see how everything goes.
Hope everything goes well," Penn stated in a video on his website
BJPenn.com.
The 31-year-old champion has domninated at 155-pounds, including
wins over Kenny Florian and Diego Sanchez in his last two fights, at
UFC 107 and UFC 101, respectively. Penn (15-5-1) will likely defend his
title once again at UFC 112.
In the last three years, Penn has a record of 5-1 with his only loss
coming when he moved up a weight class to face welterweight champion
Georges St. Pierre.
