Shambles: Will Nobody Help Pete Doherty Before It Is Too Late?

Even though Pete Doherty is apparently undergoing a drug treatment program at the moment, it is blatantly obvious that the rocker is still either at major risk or is a danger to those around him.  The revelation that his friend and filmmaker Robin Whitehead -- a member of the wealthy British Goldsmith family, who was found dead of a drug overdose on Sunday -- had been with him at the place of her death just a day before she was found should be setting off several alarm bells.

This is the second suspicious death that has surrounded the singer, and the mother of actor Mark Blanco wants a fresh police investigation into how the 30-year-old fell to his death from a balcony after arguing with the singer at a party in December 2006.

Doherty's troubles with the law are well documented: 22 drug convictions-yesterday's included, seven motoring convictions, including an 18-month ban last month.

More surprising is that he has only spent 29 days in prison and that was for breaching a drugs treatment and testing order, I am amazed that the court was so lenient yesterday ... 13 bags of heroin into a courtroom.

I hope I am wrong, but it seems as if we may be soon be penning another obituary for a rock star who died too young.

Troubled rocker Pete Doherty was told he was either stupid or publicity-seeking when he 'accidentally' carried £192 worth of heroin into court.

The former Libertines singer pleaded guilty to possession of 4g of the narcotic, which he had been found carrying just moments after being fined for careless driving.

Doherty, 30, managed to escape a prison sentence, but was given a £750 fine and £85 costs.
