Explains St. James:
Heeeeeere's "Markus," a 25-year-old former ex-marine who will be the first legal male prostitute at the Shady Lady Ranch brothel in Nevada, and who likens himself to Rosa Parks. "It's just the same as when Rosa Parks decided to sit at the front instead of the back," he tells Details, "She was proclaiming her rights as a disadvantaged, African-American older woman. And I'm doing the same. I'm actually standing up now, and hopefully I can be supported by the male community and be understood as a person. This actually isn't about selling my body. This is about changing social norms." Actually, honey, the social norms were changed on Santa Monica Boulevard and at bars like Numbers and Spotlight when you were just a young boy dreaming of whoredom, but let's not nitpick. I'm more concerned about that ugly mug of yours. Come on. I mean REALLY! Would YOU pay to have sex with this lug? OK, maybe. But would you be HAPPY about it afterwards?
I love the idea of male prostitutes being equal participants in the sex industry (I'm pro sex industry in general) and I'm all for brothels. But you aren't Rosa Parks. Sex workers aren't born sex workers. Along with the job comes the social stigma. Deal or don't do the job.
