Bert Fields is currently having a nutty over this book that claims Beatty slept with 12 or 13 thousand women. But the book is written by Peter Biskind who isn't exactly a schlemiel (thanks interwebs for spellchecking that word.) So the question is did Biskind inflate the numbers, did Beatty or was there a time, long long ago, when saying you were Beattyed meant something in this town?
And what is the male equivalent of ridden hard and put away wet?
