/FILM: First Official Photos From Edgar Wright's SCOTT PILGRIM VS. THE WORLD

Universal Pictures has released their 2010 movie preview which includes the first two official production photos from Edgar Wright’s big screen adaptation of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. The photo above appears to feature Michael Cera as Scott Pilgrim, wielding a red laser sword (George Lucas is gonna sue somebody…) in a futuristic nightclub, as Jason Schwartzman, who plays evil ex Gideon Gordon Graves and Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Romona Flowers watch on in the background from atop a pyramid.

The presence of Jason Schwartzman in the photo as Gideon Gordon Graves means this image has got to be from the end of the film, which we may or may not see first in Book 6 of Bryan Lee O'Malley's comic series.
Even in a year when we have IRON MAN 2, a new HARRY POTTER, and Christopher Nolan's newest film, Edgar Wright's adaptation of Scott Pilgrim is absolutely the theatergoing experience to which I most look forward in 2010. And seemingly every new piece of casting or image from the film gets me more excited. How long until August?
