MTV is following Starz's lead of drafting top execs from formerly
awesome networks
(TLF). MTV's pick to
spearhead their foray into scripted drama is former President of the
much-missed WB, David Janollari.
During his tenure at the WB, starting
in 2004, Janollari developed "Supernatural" (one of my personal faves),
he also worked on "Friends" back in his NBC days.
Between Janollari's
hire and MTV's recent acquisition of British teen hit "Skins," it is
clear that MTV is planning on picking up where the WB left off - a hole
that the CW has, so far, failed to fill.
