MARK STRONG
Ever since the rumors started swirling that Jackie Earl Haley was being considered for Sinestro in the upcoming Green Lantern movie I've been fretting and fuming. I did this because as much as I dig Haley as an actor he makes zero sense to play a villain like Sinestro and with much of Green Lantern film casting already crappy (Ryan Reynolds? Some chick from Gossip Girl?) this just killed it for me.
However some good news appears on the horizon as director Martin Campbell announces that while he also digs Haley as an actor the Sinestro part is now being offered to Mark Strong (Sherlock Holmes, Kick Ass). This works much better as Strong kind of looks like Sinestro and also has a much more regal vibe than Haley, which is key to Sinestro's character.
Campbell also let it slip that Green Lantern would feature Kilowog, Abin Sur and Tomar-Re and that kicks ass.
Guess we'll see how well the film actually turns out to be.
