Iann Robinson on Rob Zombie Directing CSI: MIAMI

Disco-Metal giant Rob Zombie is taking his limited directing ability into the world of television. Zombie has been tapped to direct an episode of CSI Miami, which will air on March 1st at 10pmEST. The producers brought Zombie in because of his supposed unique ability to present the cruel underbelly of society. The run down of the episode is as follows:

In the episode, the CSI team discovers that a listening device has been covertly planted at a crime scene, capturing a terrifying soundtrack of the murder and, possibly, the voice of the killer. However, when it’s revealed the bug was planted by the team’s own Jesse Cardoza, the State’s Attorney tosses the taped evidence and uncovers accusations of evidence tampering by Jesse on a murder case in Los Angeles. With the integrity of his team at stake, Horatio Caine and Eric Delko travel to Los Angeles to dig into that murder and clear Jesse’s name. While in Los Angeles, Horatio find himself face to face with secrets from Jesse’s past and a dangerous element within the LAPD.

I haven't been quiet on my dislike of Zombie's directing skills, especially his bastardization of Halloween and the lazy almost scarily inept Halloween II. I'm interested in this because Zombie isn't writing the episode only directing it. Zombie is a god-awful writer, almost a miracle of evolution he's so bad. However he might be able to direct if the material is decent.

Of course I'm expecting when Horatio puts on his trademark sunglasses that his eyes explode but who knows. Hopefully if this goes well Zombie will resign himself to directing other people's work or staying in TV altogether.

We'll just have to see.
